Roadworks and highway issues are the number one concern I hear about from residents and businesses.

These lie under the responsibility of Kent County Council (KCC), not Dover District Council (DDC), however, as your District Councillor, I endeavor to offer help and support on the issues that matter to you. It is clear that we need to manage these issues more effectively.

Your input will be shared with our Kent County Councillors to highlight areas for improvement. This data could help KCC lobby the government for better powers to manage road closures and hold utility companies accountable. Too often, companies hide behind “emergency” closures to avoid notifying KCC in advance.

Together, we can push for a system that minimises disruption, improves communication, and ensures greater coordination.
